President John Dramani Mahama made a surprise visit to the Black Stars’ training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, offering words of encouragement ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
“We haven’t given up on you” – Mahama assures players
Acknowledging the team’s recent struggles, including their failure to qualify for AFCON 2024, the President reaffirmed his faith in the squad’s ability to reclaim Ghana’s football glory.
“We didn’t qualify for AFCON. But even when we did, we crashed out very early the last time. And so, we haven’t given up on you,” Mahama assured.
He emphasized that the team’s revival rests on the players, technical staff, and management committee, urging them to work together to restore the Black Stars’ dominance in African football.
